Council for Medical Schemes
The Council for Medical Schemes is a statutory body established by the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998) to provide regulatory supervision of private health financing through medical schemes.

CIRCULAR 43 OF 2018: REQUEST FOR HIV, TB AND STI DATA FOR THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL AIDS COUNCIL (SANAC).
The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) is collaborating with the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) to collect Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) data in the population covered by medical schemes for the 1 January to 30 June 2018 reporting periods. Medical schemes, administrators and managed care organisations are hereby requested to submit HIV, TB and STI indicators thorough the Annual Statutory Return Healthcare Utilisation System by no later than 25 September 2018.
